Default Damage Models

I'm not an expert on aircraft but some of the damage models look a bit much as far as being flyable.

Some might be a bit over the top but find some photos of battle damaged aircraft and you may be surprised with the amount of damage that many planes came back with and still managed to land.

The other aspect of that is that people want to see the damage on the enemy plane. I know some of the earlier IL-2 models where the damage doesn't show as much people complained about bitterly...even when the damage model was upgraded internally the graphics stayed the same and people still, to this day, complain about those aircraft. So having lots of holes helps with the psychological issues

I might be wrong, but i think those pics shows ALL the damage that can be done and the ac proppably wont stay in the air if it got that much damage. (proppably blown up long before that, or atleast got 1 wing less))

If thats what u meant.

Got no response of differences between PC & console game play, but that won't stop me from asking another:does Track IR in any of its forms work with Console sims?
Like most tof the rest of you ,I'd rather have SoW work on my new PC( when I get the new requirements I'll have to have a new rig...)but if this comes out in another format ...first.....I may just have to......

It's not sow, that's IL2 with some of sow's features or improved graphics, but not all.

At least that's what they told us.

However, if real sow gets out on console first then I agree with you 100% .

Default Greetings

Hi all!
My name is Anton Yudintsev, and I am head of Gaijin Entertainment, developer of "IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey".

First of all: Developing of this title doesn't mean anything bad for SoW:BoB at all. BoB is not slipping to other release date because of console game even for a day - it's just not the same market after all. There is no connection at all. So, if you waiting for SoW:BoB just relax and continue waiting.

Second, considering this:

But nothing related to SoW material, just Il-2 source?

I don't buy it.
I am very sorry to tell this - but what Oleg told you IS a fact.
What we've asked for (and what we recieved) was the source code of Il-2 (flight model and AI).

And it is all what we used.
We have no connection with BoB art/art source/source code at all.
If you think, it is not true - we are in a free country, go on.
But it is truth. We used only flight model and AI. Period.

Regarding why it is so.
Ok, you could think it is silly - but it is at least honest to customer.
It is not like 1C is selling one content twice - we made eveything from the scratch, and in our game there will be not only Britain, but other countries as well.
Also, I don't think in BoB there was something usable by 3rd party at all, when we start developing our game.

I am sorry again to finish all of these speculations about BoB and BoP, and if Oleg still developing BoB or he sells his soul to evil consoles, etc, etc.

Or you can continue in speculating and denying what Oleg and I telling everyone, if you want to - we live in a free world. Go on.
