Interesting stuff indeed but the image in the article reminds more of a Bf-110 than a Dornier-17.

Could be, but as soon as I took a closer look at the engine-nacelles, it's pretty clear that it IS a Do-17. Plus that the recess in the fuselage looks more like a bomb-bay than a cockpit.

Damn nice find, regardless.
